Treacherous weather conditions which affected many parts of the country took its toll on local sports matches scheduled over the weekend.
Many matches were postponed including Portsmouth’s match away at Scunthorpe United. That was Pompey’s second successive postponement and they have not played since their fixture away at Walsall on January 4.
Also Locks Heath’s crucial game against title chasing rivals Clanfield fell foul of the adverse weather.
And despite Fareham Town’s efforts they had their match against AFC Fawley called off too.
In terms of rugby it was a similar story as the Fareham Heathens had their home tie against Ventnor postponed.
And the same result occurred for the rest of the Snows Group Hampshire Two division, which included the match between Solent University and Locks Heath Pumas.
The Heathens and the Pumas are scheduled to meet next Saturday (26).
Southampton’s match against Everton is today (January 21) and could be the only game to go ahead in the local area.
