Police are hunting a burglar after an elderly woman’s home in Locks Heath was broken into and money and bank cards stolen.

The incident happened at a home in Woodpecker Copse between 2am and 5am last Monday (July 23), and police have today (July 29) appealed for information.

Police believe other houses in the area could have been targeted and warned residents to ensure windows and doors were locked during hot weather.

Investigating officer PC Rachel Williams said: “It is possible that other houses in the area could have been targeted and are unaware, so please notify police if anything is missing.

“During the hot weather, please make sure ground floor windows and doors are locked and secure.”

Witnesses and anyone with information can contact PC Rachel Williams at Fareham police station by phoning 101. Alternatively, call the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
