A food store in Warsash has had a £342,000 make-over that has created three new jobs.
The Co-operative Food store in Warsash Road closed for the refurbishment last week and reopened to customers today (July 18) as its new-look supermarket.
The food giant’s investment aims to have “a more shopper-friendly layout, a refurbished bakery and additional self-scan tills”.
Shoppers will see an improved range of “free from”, wholefood and Fairtrade products and there will be an increased range of fine wines.
George Howarth, Store Manager said: “Warsash residents are passionate about their food and our new-look Co-operative food store will certainly reflect this.
“Our products will reflect that The Co-operative is the leading supermarket supporter of Fairtrade, and is committed to sourcing British products where possible. We know our shoppers lead busy personal and professional lives, and my dedicated and knowledgeable store team will be on hand to help customers and make recommendations so they can get the most out of their visits to our store.”
Opening hours will remain 6am to 11pm every day. The Park Gate store in Bridge Road is expected to be refurbished later this year, but a date has not yet been confirmed.
