A guided tour about the trees and landscape at Warsash Common is taking place this Saturday (June 15).

The informative 90-minute walk will highlight 12 trees native to the common with the countryside ranger telling tales of the most interesting trees and the role they have played in local legends, history and culture.

It is one of a number of guides as part of ‘Park Events’ this season organised by Fareham Borough Council in association with Fareham in Bloom volunteers.

Executive member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Connie Hockley, said: “This is a great opportunity to explore this protected site at Warsash and reveal its significance as a natural habitat and recognise the history of its hardwood inhabitants.”

The walk departs from New Road car park, off Fleet End Road at 10am.

Tickets cost £3 per person and can be bought through Fareham Tourist Information Centre in West Street, Fareham. For bookings or more details contact the centre on 01329 221342.
