Park Gate sea scouts bag £1,000 for charity

Young sea scouts in Park Gate have raised more than £1,000 for Shelter Box after packing bags for shoppers.

Members of the 1st Park Gate Sea Scouts exhibited a shelter tent at the Sainsbury’s superstore in Fareham to raise cash for the charity, which is sponsored by the Locks Heath Rotary Club.

A total of 44 Beavers and Scouts spent the day packing shoppers’ bags at Sainsbury’s check out points and the club received a framed certificate from Shelter box presented by the Rotary Club’s president David Bevis.

Each participant was rewarded with a special humanitarian certificate produced by Locks Heath Rotary to add to their portfolios.
