Fareham Heathens will look to put a dent in Ventnor’s title hopes when they meet each other this weekend.

The fixture in the Snows Group Hampshire Two comes after a week break for the Heathens.

They didn’t play last weekend, but their last game finished in an 8-3 win against struggling Alresford.

The win lifted them to ninth in the table and above Alresford.

They will look to that inspiration and determination when they host Ventnor this weekend.

Their opponents played Solent University and were beaten 27-7 in what could prove to be pivotal in the title race.

The defeat left Ventnor five points off the top and they are currently level with Overton who lie in third place.

Both sides will look for victory for very different reasons with the Heathens looking to climb the table while Ventnor will look to keep in touch with the top to mount a challenge for the title.

The match, on January 19, is a 2.15pm kick off at Heathens home ground.
