Fareham will renew acquaintances with Moneyfields when they meet each other for the second time in a week tomorrow (Saturday January 12).

The Sydenham Premier Division clash will have to go some to be as entertaining as the midweek battle in the Russell Cotes Cup – which Fareham won after extra time.

And with 11 goals from the last two meetings of these sides, there should be plenty of goalmouth action for the spectators.

Tomorrow’s game is a 2pm kick off.

During the week though Fareham went through after a thrilling 4-3 win.

After an exciting start to 2013 with a 4-2 win against Hayling United, the Creeksiders were looking for a perfect start in cup competitions in 2013.

And they got one when Bryn Mckie opened Fareham’s scoring before Dougie Rowe added the second in the first 90 minutes.

With the match going to extra time poised at 2-2, it was a case of whether either side had enough energy left for a final stint.

Both sides had the motivation to try and win and proceed in the cup and it showed in extra time.

Some exciting play by both sides could have seen this scoreline even higher with missed chances and goal line clearances.

Matt Burt then scored in extra time before a crucial point in the match.

Fareham were awarded a penalty in the last minute, Lindsey took the weight on his shoulders to take the spot kick. And as cool as you like he gave Fareham the lead late on and what looked to be the winner, and eventually it was.

That was again four different scorers, the same feat they achieved against Hayling United at the weekend.
