Bus stop works in Whiteley to be completed in March

New bus stops and shelters at the Whiteley Shopping Centre will be in ready for passengers next month.

Work is underway on bus stops and a new crossing near to Tesco at the £64m shopping centre redevelopment and should be completed by the end of March ahead of the centre opening in May.

First Bus Group’s 28 is likely to be the service stopping at the new bus shelters , which currently travels along Whiteley Way as part of its journey between Fareham and Warsash.

Councillor Mel Kendal, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Environment and Transport, said: “The developer building the new shopping centre will be installing new bus stops and shelters on Whiteley Way, as well as a new crossing from the southbound stop to the new centre.

“The bus service that includes stops on Whiteley Way and the shopping centre on its route is the number 28 which is operated by First Bus and serves Fareham, Whiteley, Locks Heath and Warsash.”
