Locks Heath put themselves in the Hampshire Premier League championship hot seat after beating AFC Stoneham 2-1 at the weekend.
The win against their nearest rivals for the top of the table spot was hard fought but in the end Locks Heath were well worth the victory.
They now sit 15 points ahead of their opponents in the league – AFC Stoneham’s five games in hand could only see them draw level with Locks Heath if they manage to win them all.
Locks Heath currently have an 11 goal advantage in terms of goal difference over their rivals – so that too could be close come the end of the campaign with Stoneham’s extra games – but at least Locks Heath have their destiny in their own hands now.
Two crucial goals for Locks Heath were scored by Ashley Tattersall and Matthew Northcott.
